The environmental awareness and marketing plan in the Shouf Biosphere Reserve aims to involve local communities and urge them to act in a responsible way towards the environment, by preventing pollution, and using resources in a sustainable manner.
Based on the above, the Shouf Biosphere Reserve has worked during the past five years to organize environmental educational campaigns and activities with the surrounding schools and associations to involve the younger generations and introduce them to good practices related to the protection and conservation of nature. One of the most important activities was the "Green Passport" initiated in 2021, with 2270 students from the surrounding schools from 10 to 14. It has tackled subjects such as the importance of forests, sustainable agriculture, forest wealth, biodiversity, and wildlife.
In the year 2022, the Shouf Biosphere Reserve organized the first environmental camp for 60 participants from 4 to 15 years old, with the support of specialists. The camp included several cultural, educational, environmental, sports and artistic activities
